Vuyiswa Sigadi

Associate Vocal Coach

Born in Des Moines Iowa, South African-American soprano Vuyiswa Sigadi (she/her) is a vibrant and well-rounded young artist and educator. Vuyiswa’s love for singing led to her early training as an educator in Dallas, Texas working with young kids in church groups. Through church internships, school choir, leading sectionals, writing and perfecting music of multiple genres, and her own multifaceted band by the name of “DiverseV,” her love for leadership in music began to grow, inspiring her to help others feel as confident as possible in their abilities. She believes that any art requires solidifying technique and fostering versatility.

Throughout her High School years, she developed a love for opera and classical singing. Vuyiswa is a three-time, First Division TMEA ALL-STATE winner, four-time UIL TSSEC First Division winner, Gold Medalist for the NAACP ACT-SO competition (2017-2018), National YoungArts Finalist and winner (2019-2020), and has also gained experience performing in several concerts.

Vuyiswa currently studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she is finishing her Bachelor of Music degree, under the tutelage of the prominent professional opera singer and voice instructor César Ulloa. In recent years, she was a finalist in the Schmidt Vocal Competition and has performed operatic leading roles, including Galatea and Le feé. Vuyiswa is devoted to sharing her gift of singing, not only through her innate musicality and her artistry, but also through captivating storytelling.
