The Songbird Studios team does their absolute best to accommodate everyone’s schedule, requests, and specific needs. To ensure that we have adequate studio space and vocal coaches available, we have implemented to following policies. We ask that all students be cognizant and respectful of these when scheduling voice lessons.
Monthly Membership Fee
The monthly membership fee is automatically charged on the first of every month and is non-refundable. For any insufficient funds transactions, a $25.00 fee will be charged.
Membership Changes & Cancellations
There are multiple membership options (6 in total) – Students can be on a 30, 45 or 60 minute plan; part-time (2 lessons/mo, every other week), full-time (4 lessons/mo, every week). Pricing starts at $115 per month. Feel free to call or email us for more details.
Memberships must be canceled at least 15 days prior to the first of the next month. This can only be done online by filling out this form. Changes and/or cancellations communicated by phone or in person are not acceptable.
We are able to hold your lesson time-slot for a one month suspension, for anything longer, although we will do our best, the time-slot cannot be guaranteed when you return.
A $90.00 expedited processing fee may be paid to cancel any membership effective immediately.
If you need to reschedule a lesson, Songbird requires 24-hours notice, which can only be given using our online reschedule requests on our website or directly to the administrative staff via voice (at) songbirdsf.com. Notice given to vocal coaches is not acceptable.
When using our online rescheduler, you may select any vocal coach and location, however you may only select the lesson length that is in your membership.
If 24-hours notice (or more) is given, then a make-up lesson can be rescheduled within the next 30 days. After those 30 days, the make-up lesson is forfeited permanently. Make-up lessons are scheduled according to availability of vocal coaches and studio space, and are not guaranteed.
Students are allowed one make-up lesson per calendar month. Unused make-up lessons do not carry over into future months. We do not pro-rate future months for cancelled lessons. Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled a second time.
If less than 24-hours notice (or no notice) is given, the lesson is forfeited permanently and cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
For Months with 5 Weeks
Depending on what day of the week your lesson is on, there may be months where you have a 5th extra lesson. In these cases, the extra lesson is considered a bonus lesson! Just please note that it’s not eligible to be rescheduled or pro-rated, whether cancelled by the student or Songbird.
For All Events (Except Group Classes)
Due to space limitations, registration and payment for all workshops, camps, open mic nights, and student showcases is required 14 days prior to the start date, and is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registration fees for missed or unattended events are forfeited permanently and cannot be transferred or refunded.
Substitute Vocal Coach
In the event a vocal coach falls ill or is unexpectedly unable to attend a regularly scheduled lesson, a substitute associate vocal coach may teach a lesson in their place. Though we will of course always aim to not have to, scheduling restraints may mean that Songbird may assign a substitute without alerting the student beforehand.
Please be on time! Lesson minutes lost due to student tardiness are not applied to the next lesson and are not prorated.
While Songbird wants all of our students to feel welcome and take advantage of our cozy common areas, we also need to respect the need for quiet and calm so that students can concentrate during their lessons.
With that in mind, we ask that all students arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before their lesson begins, and stay no later than 15 minutes after their lesson ends. This is especially important for students who rely on a parent, guardian, or friend to transport them to and from lessons. Thank you for understanding!
Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruptions
If lessons are canceled due to extreme weather or events beyond our control, i.e. power outage, natural disaster, etc. those lessons will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience for the student and Songbird.
Lost/Stolen Items & Personal Injury
While Songbird works hard to maintain safe, supportive, and comfortable environment, accidents can always happen. So please be careful and aware of your surroundings at all times. Songbird is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, or any injury that may occur inside or outside the studio.
Use of Image/Audio Consent
From time to time, Songbird may take photographs, video, and/or audio recordings of students. The resulting media may be used for display, instruction manuals, books, marketing, website and internet promotion, in both print and electronic formats, and any other promotion purposes for Songbird. The students’ name, image, likeness, and voice may be used without further consent or payment to student. Recordings, audio and/or visual, may be made during lessons and performances, however, only recordings from performances and public events like workshops may be used by Songbird for public display – Recordings from private one-on-one lessons are kept private and confidential, and will be used only for the student’s training and improvement.
Songbird may record private lessons of the student for the purposes of training the student and the instructors. Recordings of private lessons are kept private and confidential and will only be shared with instructors, the student and the student’s parents where needed. These recordings are made accessible to the student via online cloud storage such as Dropbox. Songbird takes great care to maintain the security and privacy of these recordings and Songbird shall not be held liable to the student for hackings or similar malicious activity that result in data breach or harm to the student.
