What’s your favorite meal to eat after a day of teaching?
What’s your go-to song to sing in the shower?
I get my students’ songs stuck in my head…so I’m usually singing one of them in the shower!
If you could pick any artist dead or alive to meet — who would it be and why?
Prince. He was one of the greatest living artists EVER & to have a sit down with him would be mind blowing!
What do you enjoy most about being a vocal coach?
The fact that “going to work” for me actually means “going to sing and inspire” for hours is amazing! I love that buzz in my head at the end of the day from singing non-stop! Vocal coaches are the happiest people on earth!
What artist would you pick to go on tour with and why?
Alabama Shakes – So I could watch Brittany Howard sing every night (and take notes).
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I love seeing my students grow and achieve their goals, even the short term ones. I love those “AH-HA” moments when something clicks for them vocally! When a student feels compelled to give me a hug after a lesson, it’s the best feeling ever!
What is your all time favorite album?
Aretha Franklin – AMAZING GRACE – with James Cleveland & The Southern California Community Choir
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life — what would it be?
“All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor. Just kidding!! I seriously have no idea! Maybe “Great Gig In The Sky” by Pink Floyd.
Which artist would you like to be one of your students?
Britney Spears, to ween her off auto-tuning!
Who is your biggest guilty pleasure musician?
Justin Bieber. I don’t buy his albums, but I think he has a great voice!
