Songbird Studios (songbirdsf.com) – San Francisco’s premier vocal coaching studio is looking for dynamic, well-qualified singers and teachers to join our team of talented vocal coaches as we grow our studios in San Francisco – locations in Nob Hill, Noe Valley, and the Inner Sunset.

Who we are: We are a professional vocal coaching studio serving a rapidly growing community of amazing students of all ages and skill sets. Our instructors are versed in a variety of vocal genres (including pop/top40, singer-songwriter, musical theater, classical, etc) with a focus on contemporary music styling. We provide instruction in a warm and supportive environment through one-on-one lessons, performance showcases, group classes, workshops, and summer camps. Who we are looking for: We are seeking experienced singing teachers and vocal coaches who are passionate, knowledgeable, and open minded – with the versatility to teach a variety of musical stylings and healthy vocal fundamentals.

Experience & Talent Requirements:

– Experience teaching one-on-one voice lessons (minimum one year)

– Music/singing experience, and completion of a music certificate, degree, or training program

– Basic understanding of vocal tract physiology and function

– Able to quickly assess vocal issues and provide constructive, healthy solutions

– Fundamental knowledge of vocal styling and vocal improvisation

– Basic piano skills: ability to comfortably and confidently play a variety of scales/exercises on the piano

– Ability to sing consistently and comfortably in front of others

– Understanding of music theory

The Vocal Coach will:

– Coach individual lessons guided by our standard vocal exercises and techniques

– Coach in a supportive and encouraging manner to help build student confidence and trust

– Assist in a variety of studio events including Performance Showcases, Workshops and Open Mics

– Regularly attend our training and continuing education sessions for our Vocal Coaches

– Go the extra mile to work in a team environment to make singing awesome for our students!

Desired Additional Experience & Talents (a plus):

– Songwriting ability and experience

– Current/recent live stage performance experience

– Comfortable teaching group classes, workshops, piano or guitar

– Have a basic understanding of voice science

We provide instruction in a warm and supportive environment through one-on-one lessons, performance showcases, group classes, workshops, and summer camps. The Studio Administrator will:

  • Be an integral part of an awesome team of passionate teachers and music-lovers
  • Actively participate in the evolution of the Songbird Studios community
  • Expand their personal & professional development alongside an amazing rapidly growing team

Studio Administrator will work with our Studio Manager, and be responsible for:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for our Administrative Team
  • Working closely with the Leadership Team to problem solve and enhance the client experience at our studio
  • Leading our administrative team with eloquent (articulate?) phone & email communication with new and existing clients
  • Overseeing the administrative network at our three studio locations
  • Studio scheduling and calendar management
  • Upkeep of studio inventory and supplies
  • Other administrative duties on a case by case basis

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
